Membership Status for Organizations

VIDEO TRANSCRIPT | Recorded: 2024-10-06 | Verify against current system state

Abstract

Discussion of the membership status field specifically for business/company accounts (as opposed to person accounts). Shows how the new I2C-introduced membership status field (active, expired, within grace period, never member) can replace the membership category field. Member types would be filtered based on object type - business accounts show NP Organization and Corporate Council, person accounts show individual memberships.

Key Procedures

  • Use membership status to indicate current state (active, expired, grace, never)
  • Drop membership category field (duplicative)
  • Member type list filters based on object type (person vs business)
  • Remove non-member member types from picklist

Notable Statements

  • 0:00:21 "Choosing a member category, you could only choose one or two things. You could choose all company members or all company non-members."
  • 0:00:51 "ITC has introduced a new field called membership status."
  • 0:01:26 "My thought is that we can drop the membership category and you would select a member status and you would select a member type based on the object you're on."
  • 0:01:44 "If you're in a person object, you would only see person related memberships."
  • 0:02:01 "Removing this category, which is duplicative and also the member types that are non-member types."
