Updating Profiles and Permission Sets

VIDEO TRANSCRIPT | Recorded: 2024-08-28 | Verify against current system state

Abstract

Brief tutorial demonstrating how to change a test user's permission set in Salesforce for UAT testing. Shows the I2C-provided profile/permission spreadsheet, navigating to Setup > Users to verify profile, then using Permission Sets > Manage Assignments to remove user from one set and add to another. Notes that AANP custom permission sets are prefixed to appear at top of list.

Key Procedures

  • Reference I2C profiles permissions spreadsheet for correct settings
  • Navigate to Setup via gear icon
  • Search for "users" and locate test user
  • Verify profile is set to Standard User (most roles use this)
  • Go to Permission Sets section
  • Find previous permission set, click Manage Assignments, remove user
  • Find new permission set, click Manage Assignments, Add Assignment
  • Search for user and assign (skip expiration date for testing)
  • Have user log out and back in to apply changes
